Liked the story but Alexa got in my last nerve, Rhys started off as a bit of dominant jerk but quickly seemed to grow and change unlike Alexa who seemed soo slow to grow and change and accept things almost seemed resistant to it...
I like Rhys once he started to grow and change and get a clue and while even though they were 'fated mates', I was ok that they didn't rush things between them but at the same time Alexa's stubbornness and lack of self awareness that took almost the whole book to get a clue and finally follow her feelings was insanely and deeply frustratingly slow, I wanted to give her a few shakes or a slap to the head more than once.....
And while I'm Rhys was willing to take things slow and get to know her, he let her set the pace to such a degree at times in their relationship, it felt like a female lead relationship, which even I'm a woman w/very strong and often dominate personality , I don't want to lead my relationship with a man and with the exception of the occasional BDSM themed books w/a female Domme and a male sub., I don't want to read a female lead relationship either...
Even w/the female D/s books I only want her to lead things at times, I love the idea of a strong alpha male who is strong enough in who he is and is not, to be able to give over control at times...
It takes a strong man to bend,or woman, sorry I know I digress ..
Now in the series w/the Knight consorts it made sense for the strong female lead to almost always be in charge, but this wasn't quite the same and while being patient was a good thing I still would have like to see Rhys fight more for what he wanted instead of being lead around by the nose when for over 75% of the book almost the book the poor guy was doing good to just get a kiss...
But Thank you very much...
I can't wait for more..

I really tried to like the story and even managed to get to chapter six, but this was just a jumbled mess. I can tolerate a lot in a book, or at least I thought I could. This was just all over the place, however. I didn't connect with, or care for, any of the characters, who felt very one dimensional and bland despite having all of these extraordinary powers. Maybe, if I had gotten farther along in the book, I might have liked the main characters better.
That, however, would have relied upon the other inconsistencies not being there. Things such as grammar and tense changes and not switching between third person and first person points of view for the same character in one page. It just got too annoying to keep track of and I finally gave up in disgust. Generally, I try not to do that, but I simply couldn't continue reading this hot mess.
I'm truly sorry about that, too, because the premise for the story was very interesting. Too bad that the execution was so flawed.
I really liked the setup of the new series with this book. I found it interesting and would like to read more by this author. Thank you

The characters were amazing 😉 loved the telekinesis in the book. This is a wonderful sci- fi fantasy romance book cannot wait for the next one
I love this book, its one of my favorites.
I totally enjoyed this book. Despite having read her other series I bought this on the contents of the blurb and only discovered that fact later! Nice cast of characters and interesting Mars needs woman theme!!
I loved the plot, the story was very good but it could have been great with just a little more fleshing out. I could have easily lost interest but the story was good. It just didn't have a lot of emotional detail or major things would happen but you get no resolution. The h thought several times about how they had similar customs & how Laren homes were a mix of a lot of different ancient cultures from Earth but denied the possibility of sharing DNA with them. Events would happen, but it would just skip to another day without details or explanations. It was enough to want to keep you reading to find out what would happen next but I wish we were given more body ( more meat not bare bones )to the story.
