After reading the previous book, I immediately grabbed up this one. I was hoping that it included the story of the oldest sister, Patience. Not only was her romance included, but it was the best part of the book in my opinion. The long-winded reintroduction in the beginning of the book was necessary for readers who had not read any of the previous ones, but boring for someone who had. Once past that, the story picked up speed. When the scene shifts to London, I began to get bored again. The villain was easy to pick out and his identity was no surprise. However, his whereabouts previous to his appearance was not explained and his agenda didn't make a lot of sense. Ms. Clark is a good writer and creates good characters. But, like in the previous novel, she uses modern phrases that are more than a little irritating. Two that I remember are "put on your big boy pants" and "color me surprised." Regency language? I don't think so. Because Mercy had been a favorite for me in the previous book, I think I was expecting a little too much from this one. I did enjoy it, but not as much as the previous one.

Mercy Deneane Clark 9781613311219 Books Reviews

I could not wait to read Mercy and Baz story. It was wonderful. Just make this apparent, I did not find an order so I read by the order in the store. Therefore, I read this book before Charity. I recommend you read in the correct order.
I've waited YEARS for this book to be finished. Every single one of the Ackerly sisters are wonderful, spirited, passionate women. Their men are stubborn and pig headed, but unwaveringly devoted to their wives, friends and family. These are well written heroes and heroines of how to live and love fiercely. This installment was definitely worth the wait. Mercy and Sebastian are quite possibly my favorite of them all. I encourage you to check out the entire series.
A Great ending to a wonderful series.....Mercy is the last book in the series about 5 sisters and 5 great hero's. They are not book write about sex with a story around it. They are books beautifully written with humor, suspense and very very romantic.....
You can read it as a stand alone but you will be missing out great stories starting With grace and then ending with Mercy......you will laugh cry and love all the HEA.....Mercy is in all the books and it starts with her crush at age 13 in the first book she makes her appearances a\in all the others and so does Sebastian who is forever trying to get away from her until the last book when well that's a spoiler so make sure you read all the books you wont be disappointed if you love Romance......
My review is for the entire series of the Ackerly sisters books.

Though a little repetitive in that each book has each sister in some sort of perilous situation and Patience and Amity did not get their own book, I did enjoy all the books and did not hesitate to purchase the next and the next.

I liked the authors writing style and enjoyed the characters she created. She kept me engaged throughout each book and ended each book with an epilogue which I really like, to bring closure.
I have no idea why I missed this long awaited ending to the series. I haven't given 5 stars in what feels like ages but I really enjoyed this book and felt it deserved the accolades. Although it's the finale, it's also fine as a standalone like other reviewers have said, since the author gives some background to the secondary characters. I think that Ms Clark wrote a beautiful romance and although the more picky Regency readers might struggle with some of the finer details, the love story overshadows those minor issues and brought tears to my eyes on a few occasions. Both main characters are likeable and honourable and even though it took a while to get to the hea it was worth the wait. If you like stories about Dukes and especially Dukes called Sebastian, this one is definitely worth reading.
Mercy was the supposedly the last daughter of the ackerly sister. As she was growing up she was very impetuous a tomboy, who loved horses. She met her husband at the age of 13 when he ran her over with his carriage on his way to his home in the country. The accident precipitated by mercy herself riding hell bent on her horse just to get another look at Sebastian' s horses. As time goes on she grows up into a beautiful young woman and has her London season. Sebastian on the other hand after avoiding London society his adult life can no longer do it because mercy is out and he can't seem to stay away from her.

I gave it a 3 star because the story was fully developed and interesting. It can stand alone if need be. The reader doesn't get lost since it begins at the beginning when everything started. However, if your a reader who read all the previous stories from all the other sisters you might be disappointed.

From the beginning mercy has kept me laughing at her antics in the hopes of catching Sebastian. What with hiding in his carriage, falling into muddy ponds among other things. So I expected a whirlwind of a run and catch between them, but what was received was a shadow of what mercy is truly like.

Now, would I recommend the story, sure except to an audience who like warm romance with one intimate, flowery, completion done at the end. Once the hero and heroine are Wed. Otherwise, if your into hot steamy love scenes then pass this one.
The story of Mercy and Sebastian could not be expected to be anything but tumultuous!!! It would be entirely unfair to give away any of the secrets of the drama that occurred from "here to there"! I was first disappointed that this was not on the unlimited list, and had to be purchased. However... I'm happy to own the book, cuz I "speed-read" MANY parts, so anxious to see what happens next!!! Now... I have the option to reread the story whenever I want...Taking time with details!
Maybe there will be family reunions...And later, tales of cousins growing up in this wonderful family!!! Also....Is there ever going to be an heir for Sebastian????
